ABOUT

Hi! I’m Jacqueline, a filmmaker based in Chicago with experience in production design, sound design, and directing. I received a Bachelors of Fine Arts with a Concentration in Directing and a Sound Design Minor from DePaul University. However, my film journey started way before I got my degree.

I grew up in the small town of Vicksburg, Michigan with my 6 siblings. Early on, I watched an unhealthy amount of television, which quickly led to my dream of becoming an actress in the film industry and my love for performing arts. As time went on I started to realize that it was more than the acting I was passionate about. Once I officially changed my major at DePaul, I was excited and scared, but knew I had made the right choice.

My love for sound design snuck up on me as it was simply a required course. I’ve now helped my fellow filmmakers bring their visions to life and contributed my sound design to projects that have been shown at festivals nationwide. Similarly, production design also caught me by surprise. I’ve always had a creative eye, but I didn’t know how much I would connect with creating the spaces in films. That interest lead me to opportunities from student sets to feature films.

I’ve recently finished the short film I wrote and directed. Working with other creators has taught me so much and I’m so excited to continue bringing my projects to life!

When I’m not on set or deep into my laptop, you’ll find me playing badminton, dancing, thrifting, spending time outside, or watching one of my comfort shows (it’s probably Gilmore Girls, Abbott Elementary, or Queer Eye).

At this time I’m seeking learning opportunities in the film and media industry, whether that be jobs, internships, sets, or fellowships. Feel free to check out my projects and don’t hesitate to reach out. I look forward to creating with you:)
