In 2025, my friend Lauren Lloyd reached out to me to ask if I would help create a short documentary to go along with her photography series based on hair freedom. We've been working on this project ever since, going over the goals and expectations, reaching out to community members that have voices to be heard, and creating a safe space for women of color to express themselves and share their thoughts on what hair freedom means to them. Lauren and I and have seen it grow in ways we didn't expect and cannot wait for it to be screened in the fall of 2026.
